Advanced Copies Received! Second Round of Prints Ordered and Arrived!

Hi all!

A quick one for you today (but lots of info)! 

Firstly, the Advanced Copies!

Reiterating from our last update, the books officially finished printing and have been properly bound late last month! The printer then immediately shipped out some advanced copies for us to take a peek at before then being approved and freighted to their respective warehouses. Mid last week, we got the advanced copies from the main print run, and they are almost perfect! We did catch an error on the jacket embossing that needs correcting, but fortunately because it’s just the jackets, the delay is only going to be another week or two! So look forward to a ‘We got the books!’ Update in the near future!

And now... the Prints!

The second print pack for this campaign was officially ordered last month and arrived over the weekend! 

These have been ordered separately from the Todd Lockwood prints due to those needing a signature. As these prints aren't signed, we were able to take some extra time to make sure the design elements popped!

The gloss effect on these looks so cool, the gif doesn't do it enough justice. We can't wait for y'all to see these in person!

Todd Lockwood is currently signing the Deluxe Print Packs, we got to snap some pics whilst they were in the process!

We're SO excited to get these back! Just look at that signature! These prints are going to feel like holding a piece of history.

A Look Inside: the Dust Jacket! And a Fulfillment Update!

Hey there folks!

While we're waiting to hear from the printer regarding the completion of the books (should be this month!), we wanted to share the image of the full dust jacket! We don't believe we've shared it yet, and despite sharing images of the proofs in the last update, we really just wanted an excuse to highlight the incredible work by all of the creatives who had a hand in making this book come to life. Take a look!

We continuously say around the office that this is the dang prettiest book we've ever made. It catches your eye every single time, and we hope it will for you folks too when it's on your shelf!

To reiterate from our last update - the books should be finishing printing in a matter of days/by next week, and will then be packed and freighted to us right after! We gave the estimate for mid September, and it looks like it might just be closer to the end of September. That being said, SOON!

This project truly is a labor of love and one very close to our hearts (get it?). We hope to do this beloved tale justice!

Todd Lockwood Prints Received, Tip-Ins Have Been Returned to the Printer, and... WE GOT THE PROOFS!

Hey all!

We've got a bunch of stuff to go over today, so buckle up!

First off on the docket: GenCon!

You folks came out in droves to say hello, tell us about receiving your books (not from this campaign*), and check out what we have in the works! If you stopped by our table, you'll have noticed a particular book sittin' pretty! ...More on that below... ;)

Just a short and sweet update for you all today. We just received the Todd Lockwood art prints in! Take a look!

We opened the boxes for the other two prints, but forgot to snap a picture. Rest assured - they are beautiful and came out exactly as designed! As they have to be signed by Todd, we didn't want to completely open them all up since they need to be sent right back out the door. Thanks again everyone for your feedback regarding these prints!

Signed tip-ins received by the printer!

In addition, we've been behind the scenes printing and sending out the tip-ins for signing (the author's signature page)! There was some holdup at customs, but we've received word that the printer officially has them in hand. These can now be placed in the final books, so we're one step closer to having these beauties in our warehouse! Once printing finishes up, we'll let you folks know! :)

And now... THE PROOFS!

If you saw us at GenCon the other weekend, you would have seen this work of art in person. Take a look!

Shoutout to Ben for getting these beautiful pictures taken over the past couple weeks! That being said, they do not do the book justice. This very well may be the prettiest dang book we've done yet!

Since we've received the proof copies, the printer has let us know the main run is nearly completed (thanks to the tip-ins arriving, the final pieces can be assembled in full). They've let us know the main run will likely freight to us around mid to late September. Once we receive word of the freight process beginning, we'll let you folks know! As with every date we share, they are estimates only - please be aware that things such as weather can always throw a wrench in the process.

A Look Inside: the Signature Page and the End Sheets!

Hi there everyone!

We hope you're having a good week so far! We've got a couple art pieces to show you today!

As part of redesigning the interior of the book, we also have to design the signature tip-ins for the books. These pages are unique in that they are printed before the rest of the book and shipped to the author for signing. Once they're done, they get shipped back to the printer and the remainder of production can begin.

Earlier this month, we have the finalized design of those tip-in pages (shown below). There may be some slight changes as we work to match our designs to the printer's requirements, but all of your signature pages can be expected to look like this!

In addition to the signature page, we also finished up the end sheets! Take a look below!

The end sheets are the first thing you see when you open the book as well as the very last before it closes, so we wanted to make sure they stood out and really provided atmosphere to this story. Most of you are familiar with this art, so we wanted to show y'all where it would be in the book!
